Asbestos Services

CMEC carry out asbestos surveys as the first stage in any asbestos management or removal. Our surveyors are fully trained to BOHS P402 standards and we can offer either type 1,2 or 3 surveys.

CMEC employs qualified asbestos surveyors. This in-house capability brings significant advantages to our clients both when carrying out stand-alone surveys and when undertaking asbestos removal and demolition works. All its surveys are carried out in accordance with MDHS 100 with laboratory testing of samples being carried out by an independent UKAS accredited laboratory.

Register/Management

If asbestos is thought to be on site, then it has to treated as such and sent for testing to our partners at a UKAS accredited laboratory. If removal is not required then we are able to provide a register to enable the property owner the peace of mind to enable you to use the property and rest easy that if any future work is to be done we can inform you of the location and state of any asbestos.

CMEC has its own fully licensed Waste Transfer Station.  We are monitored by the Environment Agency on a regular basis.  The transfer station is fully licensed to accept both bonded and fibrous asbestos. This is just one of the ways CMEC can reduce your overheads.

Encapsulation Service

If asbestos is found to be present on site and it cannot be easiliy removed due to cost implications or logistics, then CMEC offer a complete encapsulation service. This entails wrapping the item as a type of bandage and painting, thus minimising the risk of damage to the asbestos and any persons, until such time you may want the asbestos removed.

CMEC owns its own waste transfer station licensed by the Environment Agency and is licensed to take both bonded and fibrous asbestos for disposal prior to landfill enabling us to keep our costs down.
